Marina Viotti

International Mezzo-Soprano – Grammy Award Winner

27 October 2026, at Le Lyrique Restaurant, Geneva

What if true freedom meant refusing to choose between worlds?

For our last LeadHers dinner, we were delighted to welcome Marina Viotti, one of the most distinctive mezzo-sopranos of her generation, for an evening exploring artistic freedom, bold choices and the courage to forge your own path.

From La Scala to the Paris Opera, from the Bolshoi to Madrid’s Teatro Real, Marina has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Yet her journey has been anything but conventional.

Born into a renowned family of musicians, she began by exploring the flute, jazz, gospel and heavy metal, while also studying philosophy and literature, before ultimately finding her voice in opera. It is an unconventional, fiercely independent path that has shaped the artist she is today.

In 2024, Marina captivated audiences worldwide at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, performing alongside French metal band Gojira in front of millions of viewers. The groundbreaking performance went on to win a Grammy Award, and in 2025, she was named Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.

How do you forge your own path when everything seems to be leading you towards another?

Over dinner, Marina shared the choices, encounters and risks that have shaped her extraordinary journey. We explored artistic freedom, heritage and success – and what continues to inspire her to defy expectations and create bridges between seemingly opposite worlds.

An intimate conversation with an exceptional artist – and, above all, a woman who has never allowed convention to define what she could become.
