Camille Henrot is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in contemporary art today. Over the past two decades, she has garnered critical acclaim for her multifaceted practice, which spans drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, and film. Her work draws inspiration from diverse sources, including literature, second-hand markets, poetry, cartoons, social media, self-help culture, and the everyday. Through this eclectic lens, Henrot explores the complexities of modern existence, capturing the tension between our personal identities and our roles as global citizens in an increasingly connected and overstimulated world.

In 2013, Henrot achieved international recognition with her film Grosse Fatigue, created during a fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution. The work earned her the prestigious Silver Lion at the 55th Venice Biennale. Building on the ideas from Grosse Fatigue, she developed the acclaimed 2014 installation The Pale Fox, which debuted at Chisenhale Gallery in London and later traveled to prominent institutions such as Kunsthal Charlottenburg in Copenhagen, Bétonsalon – Centre for Art and Research in Paris, Westfälischer Kunstverein in Münster, Germany, and Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in Japan.

In 2017, Henrot was given carte blanche at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, where she presented the landmark exhibition Days Are Dogs. Her accolades include the 2014 Nam June Paik Award and the 2015 Edvard Munch Award. Henrot has also been a prominent participant in major international art biennials, including those in Lyon, Berlin, Sydney, and Liverpool.

Henrot’s work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions across the globe, including shows at the New Museum in New York, Schinkel Pavilion in Berlin, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Fondazione Memmo in Rome, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. Recent solo exhibitions include the Middelheim Museum (2022), Munch Museum (2022), Lokremise St. Gallen (2023), and Fondazione ICA Milano (2023). She also has an upcoming solo exhibition with Hauser & Wirth in New York City.
