A proud native of Corrèze, named the world’s best judicial administrator by Global Restructuring Review in 2024, a first for the profession in France, Hélène Bourbouloux has embodied for more than twenty five years determination and humanity in the service of companies in difficulty.
With more than 2,500 mandates carried out, she has supported companies facing major crises, restructured over 70 billion euros of debt in thirteen years, and helped preserve nearly half a million jobs. Her expertise covers both LBO groups and spin offs of large subsidiaries, with supranational cases that have marked recent economic history. Her career is illustrated by emblematic rescues, from Vallourec to CGG, from Célio to EuropaCorp, as well as the multiple restructurings of Pages Jaunes, now Solocal, and more recently high profile cases such as Atos, Casino, or Orpea.
Described as the “Madonna of bankruptcies” by Le Monde in 2013, she has received numerous distinctions, including the HEC au Féminin Trajectory Award, the Woman of Economic Influence Award, and the HEC of the Year Award. A Knight of the National Order of Merit and of the Legion of Honor, she has also been involved in academic and associative life, presiding over HEC We&men, co founding Women in Restructuring, and serving on the board of the International Insolvency Institute alongside the world’s leading experts.
In a traditionally male environment, she asserted her place early on, defying prejudices and proving through her tenacity that no company is insurmountable. She likes to define herself as a doctor at the bedside of companies, working to save jobs and preserve activity.
