Isadora Zubillaga

Former Ambassador of Venezuela to France and Senior Advisor for European Affairs to María Corina Machado

16 June 2026, at The Craft by Abadia Retuerta, Madrid

We were delighted to invite our guests to our LeadHers breakfast with Isadora Zubillaga, Senior Advisor for European Affairs to María Corina Machado, former Ambassador and Special Envoy to the French Republic, and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs designated by the Venezuelan National Assembly.

At a decisive moment for Venezuela, following the removal of Nicolás Maduro from power and amid renewed questions around democratic transition, political legitimacy, institutional reconstruction and international support, Isadora helped us understand what is truly at stake for the country and what may come next.

With more than thirty years of experience in diplomacy, strategy and international advocacy, Isadora has played a key role in bringing Venezuela’s democratic cause to the European stage. She has worked closely with María Corina Machado, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, whose leadership has become a powerful symbol of democratic resistance, courage and national renewal.

Isadora is also the founder of Women for Democracy in Venezuela and of the Women’s Task Force for the Negotiation Process, initiatives dedicated to strengthening civic participation and supporting democratic dialogue during periods of political transition.

This conversation offered a rare and informed perspective on Venezuela’s future: the challenges of rebuilding institutions, restoring trust, navigating geopolitical tensions, and understanding the forces shaping the country’s next chapter.
