Opera Singer
5 March 2025, at Piaget’s Private Apartment, Paris
Marina Viotti, the internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano whose bold artistic choices and extraordinary versatility have redefined the boundaries of classical music.
Awarded Best Young Singer of the Year at the International Opera Awards, Marina has dazzled audiences worldwide, from the stages of La Scala, the Bolshoi, and Staatsoper Berlin to groundbreaking performances that fuse opera, jazz, chanson, and even metal. Her career has taken her from the grand operatic roles of Rosina, Cherubino, and Elisabetta to innovative recitals and cabaret performances, making her one of the most exciting voices of her generation.
A musician at heart and an explorer by nature, Marina grew up in a family of musicians, first mastering the flute before immersing herself in the world of jazz, gospel, and heavy metal. This fearless artistic journey culminated in one of the most talked-about performances of the decade: her fiery collaboration with the metal band Gojira at the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, which earned a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
We were very excited to hear Marina Viotti share her journey from opera’s grand stages to unexpected artistic collaborations. In an intimate conversation, she reflected on her career, her passion for blending musical worlds, and the experiences that have shaped her as an artist.
