BIME and Sweep Founder

Rachel Delacour is a force to be reckoned with in the world of technology and entrepreneurship. She built her career from the ground up and had no entrepreneurial role models growing up. After a short stint in finance, an industry that she joined to be able to pay back her student loans, Rachel joined Carrefour in management control. Finding the data management tools incredibly inefficient, Rachel decided to create her own: BIME was born.
Rachel saw her business venture as a new form of freedom and an opportunity to build exactly what she wanted. Although the road was difficult, and she went through numerous setbacks, Rachel persevered, and her efforts paid off handsomely when she sold the profitable company to Zendesk in 2015.
Instead of taking a step back after the sale and spending more time with her family, Rachel felt a sense of urgency after reading the IPCC report on global warming. She realized that she could not stand idly by as the planet warms. Instead, she decided to capitalize on her entrepreneurial experience and embarked on a mission to help fight climate change. In 2020, Rachel launched her second venture, Sweep, a software company that enables businesses to take control of their climate journey and take concrete action to reduce their carbon footprint.
With LeadHers, Rachel discussed her impressive career path as a leading figure in European tech, her thoughts and experiences tackling the climate crisis as well as her life philosophy that life is short, and if you don’t take advantage of it, no one will wait for you.
